Industry Minister Bhatt's four works, which will change the face of the Sudurpaschim Province

Dhangadhi : A high-level delegation led by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekhraj Bhatt has visited various parts of the Sudurpaschim Provinces. 

A high-level team including Industry Minister Bhatta had conducted on-site monitoring at three places in Kailali and inaugurated a dry port and inter-country special economic zone at Dodhara Chandni, kanchanpur. A high-level delegation comprising Minister Bhatt, Industry Secretary Chandra Kumar Shrestha and Commerce and Supplies Secretary Baikuntha Aryal.
A press conference held at Godavari on Monday informed about the various activities carried out during the visit.

1. Inauguration of establishment of dry port and inter-country special economic zone at Dodhara Chandni

A technical committee formed under the coordination of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry has started an on-site study to start the construction of dry port in the Mayapuri and Gaurishankar areas of Mahakali Municipality of Kanchpur in an area of ​​496 hectares. 

According to Chandra Kumar Shrestha, Industry Secretary at the Ministry, Mayapuri and Gaurishankar are suitable among the three options studied by Nepal and India for developing dry ports and inter-country special economic zones. He said that this inter-country special economic zone will be the first in Nepal.

Once these infrastructures are ready, it is believed that the door will be opened for foreign trade and investment to connect Nepal from sudurpaschim provinces.

2. On-site observation of Daiji (Chhela) Industrial Area of Kanchanpur and commencement of construction.

On-site observation and construction of Daiji (Chhela) Industrial Area of ​​Kanchanpur has been started. The Daiji (Chhela) Industrial Zone will be constructed with an investment of around Rs 8 billion.

It is said that additional investment will be made in 124 industries in the industrial sector. Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Chandra Kumar Shrestha, informed that a detailed study report and environmental impact assessment study report has been prepared and approved by the concerned body on the declaration of Daiji (Chhela) Industrial Area on 900 acres of land.

3. Area inspection within the Charkilla of the Special Economic Zone at Sreepur Haraiya, Kailali.

A high-level team led by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekhraj Bhatta has inspected the area inside the panoramic of the Special Economic Zone at Sreepur Haraiya in Kailali.

The ministry has informed that a detailed engineering study has been started for the construction of the proposed special economic zone in Haraiya covering an area of ​​about 200 hectares.

4. On-site observation and monitoring of Attariya-Dhangadhi Industrial Corridor.

Similarly, Industry Minister Bhatt's team has observed and monitored the Attariya-Dhangadhi Industrial Corridor. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has taken the objective of establishing well-equipped economic corridors with industrial infrastructure on both sides of the 15 km highway.

The Ministry has also informed that it has started the work of preparing detailed study report by preparing master plan of Attariya-Dhangadhi Industrial Corridor.
