Helicopter going for rescue and relief of flood victims of Darchula

Dhangadhi : Helicopters are going to rescue the flood victims of Darchula. The Government of Nepal, in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Far Western Province, is about to depart by helicopter with relief materials for the affected areas of Darchula.

 

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Purna Joshi has informed that a helicopter with relief materials is being sent for the displaced and victim families. Earlier, Minister Joshi had directed the local government, administration, security personnel and locals to get involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of the flood victims.

Three people have been killed and two others have gone missing due to floods and landslides in different parts of Darchula last night. The floods and landslides that came on Sunday night have caused physical and human damage in different areas of Duhu village and Mahakali municipality.

 

Narasimha Mahar and his wife Kausha Mahar have died in a landslide in Duhu Gaonpalika-1. According to Manohar Prasad Bhat, Deputy Superintendent of Police, they were killed when a landslide fell on them while they were sleeping at night.

Similarly, Manuwa Dadal also died in the flood in Dulla of Duhu village municipality-5. The flood that came in Kalagad river from 10 pm has washed away Dadal and his house. Similarly, two persons have gone missing due to floods in Ward No. 3 Nijangad.

 

According to local Dilip Singh Karki, locals Sher Singh Karki and Harak Singh Karki have gone missing due to the flood in Nijangad River. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, Red Cross and locals have reached the spot.
