The investigation committee concluded that SSB was involved in the Darchula incident

Dhangadhi : The investigation committee has concluded that the Indian Armed Border Force (ASBF) was involved in the disappearance of Jaisingh Dhami of Darchula in the Mahakali River. In the report prepared by the committee formed under the coordination of Home Ministry Joint Secretary Janardan Gautam, it has recommended to re-investigate the involvement of SSB and take action against the culprits. The report prepared by the committee after a month was submitted to Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan yesterday.

As the place where the incident took place is Indian land, the committee has concluded that there is a legal complication to investigate from Nepal. The committee has also stated that a diplomatic initiative is needed to investigate the incident from India and take action against the culprits and provide relief to the families of the victims.

 

"As the incident took place in the presence of Indian SSB security personnel, the committee has recommended to investigate their involvement and take legal action against the culprits. It is mentioned in the release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Jaisingh of Bans Gaonpalika-2 of Darchula had gone missing after falling into the Dhami River on July 31 while crossing the Mahakali River. Eyewitnesses said that the Indian security force SSB cut the rope and fell into the Dhami river. The government has not yet taken any diplomatic initiative to investigate this crime against humanity and take action against the culprits.
