Nepalgunj, Aug. 31: Treatment of COVID-19 patient through plasma therapy method has also been started in Nepalgunj.

The treatment started with Pramod Rijal, Chairman of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 1, donating blood for plasma therapy treatment of a critical COVID-19 patient of Salyan district under treatment at Bheri Hospital here on Monday.

Ward Chair Rijal has also become the first person to donate blood for plasma therapy in Nepalgunj.

Rijal had contracted virus infection some 28 days ago and recovered from it after treatment. He donated blood for plasma therapy treatment of a 29 year old infected youth from Sharada-6 of Salyan district whose health condition was deteriorating despite being under treatment at the hospital.

Dr. Khagendra Jung Shah, contact person for plasma therapy at the Bheri Hospital, said that Salyan's youth was given plasma as his health condition was getting critical with pneumonia and low level of oxygen in blood and that he was to be placed in ventilator if his health continued deteriorating.
