Dhangadhi : In Kailali, the consumption and sale of alcohol will not be allowed in the district from tonight.
The District Administration Office, Kailali, had issued a notice last Saturday stating that the consumption and sale of intoxicants would be banned in the district from the silence period of the election until the announcement of the results.
In order to conduct the upcoming local level election 2079 in a clean, fair, fearless and peaceful manner as mentioned in the Election Code of Conduct Shivraj Joshi, Information Officer of Lagak's office informed that it has been completely banned as per clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 6 of the Local Administration Act, 2028 BS.
It has also stated that action will be taken as per the prevailing law if found violating the order issued by the administration.
