Bajhang district is mourning the death of Prithvi Bahadur Singh, Home Affairs and Law Minister of the Sudurpaschim Province government, who passed away in an accident on Tuesday afternoon. All the people of the district are now in mourning due to the death of Minister Singh.

After being appointed as a minister, he was going to his home district for the first time to share happiness with his constituents and worship the clan deity, to give instructions to the office heads and to monitor development works. Speaker of Sudurpaschim Province Bhim Bhandari also said that the district itself was devastated when the people lost their beloved leader and the politics of Bajhang suffered an irreparable loss. Dan Bahadur Surmeli, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "The minister was a leader with a simple lifestyle, integrity and a love of development. The funeral will be held on Saturday

Late Minister Singh and his wife Amrita Singh will be cremated next Saturday at the Doban of Seti river near the headquarters Chainpur. According to family sources, Minister Singh's son Myla is in Israel for foreign employment, so the funeral will be done according to Hindu traditions only after his arrival. It is also said that Minister Singh's youngest son will come from Israel on Thursday. He has two sons, a daughter-in-law and a grandson.

Minister Singh's body was taken to Bajhang by a Nepalese army helicopter on Wednesday and is now being kept safely in the District Hospital Bajhang.
